It's a lot like the book most American high school children used
to read called "Animal Farm".

One the back of the barn, the animals had written their principles
of their new society. One was "All animals are equal." One morning,
the animals notived the slogan had been changed during the night to
read: "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."

Not too long ago, when Mexico got in deep deep trouble, it was not
a big deal until it was determined how much money was invested by
U.S. institutions in Mexican short term-paper. Then it became important for us to help our neighbor to the South.

There was also a movie several years ago called "rollover". At the
time it was about the arabs and all their oil money. But the basic
question still applies today:" What if the Treasury held an auction and nobody came?"

IMO, the basic underlying cause of Thailand collapsing, or of
a family financially collapsing is the same.... too many institutions were willing to make too much credit available.

I know I'll never be wealthy for one simple reason, I HATE to owe
anybody money. It takes leverage, (or I think they call it "gearing"
in HK), to make lots of money. Unfortunately, I remember from
physics, (and watching lot's of roadrunner cartoons), that a lever can swing both ways. When it swings against you, it really hurts!

Regards,

Doug
