I sold my position in regional banks stocks FMBL and BHRB yesterday. The tax custs are all good and NIM may rise, but at some point, the will have to normalize their loss provisions again. most banks have not really added anything in terms of loan loss provisions during the last few years diente improving credit trends, but that is not normal. I do think that rising interest rates will cause trouble elf or RE valuations and that means that lenders will take a hit too. Most smaller banks make their living lending on commercial and residential RE.
