Major updates can take so long. The Win 10 update to version 1709 went smoothly on my desktop but on the laptop it seemed frozen after a couple of hours. So I cold started and the process started again and this time completed ok.

Reliable update progress indicators would be a nice feature.

Also, the user's "active hours" may not allow Windows to restart after an update, unless you override.

I keep updating on weekends which is likely a busier time for this.

Windows 7 update differently compared to Windows 10. You can turn the computer off and the update will install, when you power back on you will see configuring update do not turn off your computer. Important updates are usually released on the second week of the month. You most likely got a recommended update.
