It's hard to keep up, but how about Sessions throws out the charges against Mannafort because the evidence was collected by a special council created from a dossier that was all fake?

I think we knew most of the stuff on Manafort before the indictment. It's odd that it took so long since there's very little in there that's new. I didn't know anything about Gates so that's a little new.

This is far more interesting. He pled guilty.

"As outlined in the statement of Papadopoulos' offense, the foreign policy adviser met with an individual who put him in contact with a woman whom he believed to a relative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He later told Trump that he might be able to arrange a meeting between the candidate and the president. One of Papadopoulos' contacts told him in April 2016 that the Russians "have dirt on" Hillary Clinton, after which he told campaign associates he had "interesting messages coming in from Moscow."

James,
It will be a long stretch to find Manafort guilty and is a diversion to what Mueller was trying to achieve.
He's pressing these charges in hopes of pressuring Manafort to confess to something greater than just "tax evasion."
