Dell Computer (NASDAQ: DELL) may be one of the first
good examples of this. The company announced Thursday
it will be cutting prices on some desktop personal
computers by as much as 15%. The move is not likely to
hurt revenue, however, for two reasons. First, it can
cut prices in part because it buys components from
Asian suppliers, and those parts are now cheaper.
Second, Dell does not sell much into the Asian markets
-- so it is not as penalized by the economic slowdown
there.

re: Would you post the link to the story that specifically
cites >$2000 system weakness as the basis for their
shortfall?

Not all info is on the Internet.
I get research that many do not get. FTR it came from PW

You may be right, I was going over it again, and ADPT said their OEM business was strong. That would be DELL and CPQ.
I guess this is really more negative for INTC. SCSI goes with higher priced CPU's. and that is where ADPT is seeing weakness.

And yes things can change drasticaly in 6 weeks.
And yes Michael will not come out and tell you when things turn bad, He will wait hoping it gets better untill he cannot make up the short fall at which time Managements preannounce.
