Dear Jane, The Temple built by King Solomon was destroyed by Nebuchadezzar of Babylon in 2 Chronicles 36:18. It was burned to the ground. Then in Ezra, God inspired Cyrus King of Persia to rebuild the Temple of the one true and living God (one of the many righteous Gentiles in the Old Testament). Daniel lived during the time before the rebuilding and in Daniel chapter 9 it gives the number of weeks to pinpoint the time of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem and it says the Holy One would come before the destruction of the second Temple. The only candidate that fit all the scriptures was Yeshua. Surprising as it may be there were many that claimed to be the Messiah at the same time Jesus was here. The Jews became frustrated with this claim and it added to the problem alot. So satan has always been working as he is now. I will share more later, gotta go. Nancy
