*AV* --- I do not want to comment on this as of yet. My reason is that I am doing another informal survey of my peers in the industry trenches.

I have nothing to suggest there is a change in my bullish psoture.
However, there are 3 factors that must be consider, of which only 2 were known in December.

1. Capital Appropriations plans that were approved in the 4th QTR for most of the equipment customers (IC companies).
2. Letters of Intent to get a place in line for equipment purchases in 1998 in order to have repectable delivery dates.
3. CARs wriiten and purchase orders placed now that we have entered into 1998.

The last part was an unknown since it is a matter of perception vs reality. I am doing the reality check now to see if the orders are being placed, if they are being put on hold, delayed, or change of direction is coming about. In other words, the actions that are being taken will now be compared to the verbal commitments given late last year.
