Don, I agree in principal, but your last thought is important. A lot of people do trade on it, so anticipating their reaction can be useful, but not necessarily reliable as one would have to get in or out before the technical signal while a chartist would wait for the signal.

I see it as a way to describe investor behavior and sentiment, but also believe that it is too subjective to trade on TA alone.
