An Opinion... The month of March should provide the best buying opportunity in years. For just about everything. Have a large cash position by then. Yes, all markets are down in general. However, there has been a change in sectors of signifigance to traders - Newspapers (esp NYTimes), Construction, Health Care sectors look to surge. If you are not familiar with shorting stocks - then don't. One can still make decent profits every day just going long. Even the tech sector will have some bright spots weekly. I would recommend NOT buying on rumor, but rather selling on it (not shorting, though). Information is travelling too wuickly these days to go by the old Buy on Rumor, sell on news" adage. Small caps are resurfacing for excellent profits, but they take more than a week or two sometimes. Research, assess, set stops and use the basic charting tools I described recently and you will do fine. Don't buy anthing after a jump in price of more than 15% unless the volume was only 50% above normal or less. Even then make sure it was several dozen trades and not a single large buy. If you are hesitant abou trading - then wait. There is nothing wrong with being right about a ticker and not taking the chance. It builds character and confidence without depleting the trading account. And for those who emailed about my short hospital visit this morning for an exploratory - thank you all. I am in perfect health - my father and late uncle both had cancer and when I hit 45 last week my sister th M.D. "forced" me to go for an invasive checkup. I'd say its payback time now... Have a great weekend everyone. lastshadow
