***Brilliant Digital Entertainment (BDE)***
I wanted to give a heads up to everyone on the thread
about an unreleased report by Credit Suisse First Boston
on BDE. I'm listing this here because the company is part
of the interactive software entertainment sector and there
is no thread on it. I will start one over the weekend.

CS First Boston should start coverage on BDE sometime
next week or the one after. I first heard about the
rumor from my hedge fund source. The analyst who covers
the sector at CS is Jeniffer Klein and she will not comment
about it, except to say that they have not yet released a
report on the company. So I called Coffin Communications
(who has done public relations work for thqi also) and spoke
with Christie Mottola (714) 851-1109. Coffin represents BDE
as well. At first, she said she could not confirm but would
follow it up with CS. I now have confirmation from Motolla
that it will happen in the coming days.

BDE plans to be in a Wall Street Forum conference for
institutional investors after the CS report is released.
Also, next week an internet news service will start covering
the company. You can get the details from Yahoo Finance.
I'm going to leave the fundamentals--which I'm wildly bullish
about--for the thread. It should be ready by Saturday or Sunday.

cheers,
Bleeker

Here's some interesting (perhaps) and useless (probably) information that I've compiled:

The number of posts to the SI THQI thread increased 22% sequentially from November (n=499) to December 1997 (n=607). Year-over-year growth exceeded 800% from December 1996 (n=67).

Post volume in Q4 1997 (n=1577) more than tripled from Q3 1997 (n=518). Q4 1997 post volume was more than 12 times the post volume in Q4 1996 (n=127).

The trailing 3-month moving average of posts increased in December 1997 (n=526) by 35% from the trailing 3-month moving average in November (n=390). Year-over-year, the moving average increased by a factor of 12 from 12/96 (n=42).

What does this mean? It means that THQI is gaining popularity among individual investors. It also means that the same people are discussing THQI a lot more. I suppose a decent portion of Q4's growth was associated with StaggerLee-related phenomena.

Speaking of SOL, isn't it curious that one of the commentators on WCW Monday Nitro (Lee Marshall) is referred to as Stagger Lee? Hmmmm...
