Also it asumes that the only way you know you are wrong is if the price goes against you.That is wrong.As an example today I bought ADPT and it's actions told me it was wrong.I sold at a 1/16 above my buy and made a lousy $30 but the stock tanked after that

Alas, life is never as simple as simple illustrative examples. As a new comer to the world of momentum trading, my sense is that the simple example gives you an absolute worst case for whatever thresholds you chose to use.

What criteria made you decide to leave your stock at 1/16 gain. Isnt that criteria the criteria that needs to be evaluated against many situations in the context of the costs of trading to determine whether the strategy is a robust winning strategy?
