('EVS') Comments on Preliminary Fourth Quarter and Year End Financial Results YOQNEAM, Israel, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Elbit Vision Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: EVSNF - news) today announced that based on unaudited preliminary financial results, the Company expects to report revenues and net income for the fourth quarter of 1997 below that reported for its fourth quarter ended December 31, 1996. However, revenues for the year 1997 will represent an increase of approximately 40% compared to 1996, and net income will represent an increase of approximately 100% compared to 1996. The Company attributes the fourth quarter revenue and profit decline to the inability to conclude in 1997 several contracts following the OTEMAS trade show in Japan.
