Bill,
My kids' friends who are black got around 1,000 on the SATs and went to Ivy League schools.
If that's the case, it must be a recent thing, and something that definitely waters down the reputation of the Ivy League.

Usually 1200 is the absolute bottom, even for affirmative action and legacy candidates. Anything below that, and there's no way the applicant would ever survive the classes, at least not at my alma mater. (The exception is Harvard, but Harvard has like a 95% rejection rate, so it's not like they have to lower their standards on diversity candidates.)

And your kids friends told you this???? BS...

BTW, it is well known around the world that if you can get into a university no matter what your score, you can succeed there.... Examples galore...Japanese HS students study their asses off to get into colleges of their choice...have a high suicide rate as a result. After arriving on campus as freshman, it's party time...

Asian college grads drive the shit out of themselves to score high on the GRE.....when they get here they barely speak any English but survive and do very well, eg I believe most STEM PhD's are now Asian...
