How about just doing research independently? Not only with gun control, but with AGW?

Legitimate scientists would not support what has been (and is being) done in researching AGW. Part of it makes sense, but the conclusion are obviously not science. The great scientists of 100 years ago wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Agreed. But I personally think technology might solve the problem. I think technology can void the 2'nd Amendment. At some point, anyone who deploys a gun will die instantly, and after a few examples (perhaps 1000's of examples?) the morons will realize the game is over.

It's a hundred year problem. As rural areas continue to lose population to the cities they will also lose political power. This will take a long time, but at some point rural areas simply won't politically matter much.

Factory farms are already becoming quite automated. Humans won't be sitting in combines harvesting corn and soybeans. Robots will be tending the cattle, not cowboys.
