You are clearly not following the death of the oceans. Take a look at the plight of marine organisms. The acidity of the oceans is becoming a great problem. I'm not sure how you could have missed the landslide of research on this- but perhaps you have. Scientists in all countries are finding this- it's not just here, in the US (unless you think there's some world wide conspiracy):

This is just one of the global warming issues. But mass starvation due to disruptions of ocean food chains is not unthinkable at this point.
