SETH, damn bees and skeeters all in the same day.gggggg I like to see at least a million or so shares trade or about 50% of the last run-ups volume in total as a base. I'm sure there are more precise rules, but this usually works for me. What has been very interesting about today's activity is the lack of volume to the downside, which tells me that the base rests at higher levels. RB

Seth, According to William O'Neil "The flat base moves straight side-ways in a fairly tight price range for at least six or seven weeks and does not correct more than 10% to 15%". Think part of the problem in answering your question is the defination of a base. Different strokes for different folks for certain. Larrie PS: Sorry about the complex.
