The problem that many people have is that they cling to wrong opinions and refuse to admit that they have been wrong. You are a classic case of that attitude. You have been so wrong being bearish since the summer and refuse to admit it. You have even tried to justify that attitude by telling me how rich you and your friends are. And you have even told me that you only need a 2% return to maintain your life style.
Now if you don't want to assume risk based on preserving your capital, that's fine and your choice. But when you start telling me how bearish you have been since the summer, all I can say is that the Market is telling you that you have been very wrong.
Why don't you be concrete here and give some specifics in terms of the correction you are waiting for before you allocate more money to equities. Are you expecting a 3% correction? 5%%? 10%? 20%? Bear Market?
After the rampage the Market has been on since the summer, you gotta do a lot better with me in terms of justifying your bearishness with a minor decline I am looking at today. For starters, the S&P hasn't corrected more than 2.8% the whole year. Wake me up when it corrects at least 3%. Otherwise you are just just trying to justify a wrong bearish stance you hold.
Timing is everything and you have been wrong. And I am no Perma bull, far from it. I see continued higher prices if not next week, the week after.
