George, I haven't been keeping up with all the pots here so I didn't know you were around. I have relocated here from Kitco since it became rather vindictive.I am buying a chunk of ABX leaps this week(today or Monday). I know you had advised that gold stocks might tank with the market, but i can't see ABX going much lower. What do you think?

I still think they are using the Asia mess as an excuse..unless you
think the US economy is as "good as it gets"..
I understand the flight into short term instruments..but those also
seem like another trap down the road..
The sense of well being of the mutual fund investor can flipflop
over night as the market tanks..who is willing to prop up the market
at this point?
Add the 84,000 GM workers who are now worried that they may have to
pay a lot of their own health care benefits and watch other corporations to keep up profits continue suit..
the opium is being removed..and possibly the removal will start
accelerating :>
Or am I way off..

(waiting for people to put a positive spin on Asia..ie..now a truly
global market since they will have to get rid of whatever protecticism
if they want more money to be bailed out...etc...more US corps will
save money on interest rates, will take over a lot of businesses which
will be read as great for profits down the road etc etc etsoforth

George, re: better times in Asia very postive for gold. That's true of jewelry and electronics components of demand.

But I see the major wild card in the future being investment demand, which is currently insignificant. How does the argument that the deteriorating situation in Asia will actually increase demand grab you?
