The government isn't supposed to fix the economy unless it's in serious trouble. The Great Recession is a perfect example of that. Same with inflation during the Nixion/Ford/Carter and Reagan years.

The government needs to help with infrastructure spending etc. but first we need two parties who are willing to raise taxes to pay for it. Since only one party has the balls to be grownups we know republicans are useless.
