Lane3 makes a good point.

Global Warming really needs to separate itself from religion, and the "believe in" phrase really conveys a sense of religious status.

I didn't miss koan's point; I ignored it and made my own point.

We posters get to pick and choose which portions of a post we address in our responses. I think it's bad form to not be clear about just what one's response addresses so I virtually always use a segue. I thought it would be clear that I was not responding to the substance of the segue sentence but to a particular terminology used within it.

People saying they believe in evolution or AGW or the earth's circumnavigation of the sun is a hobbyhorse of mine. It's hard to argue that, for example, creation "science" should not be taught as science when some on the science side are not themselves clear about the difference. Sorry if it irked.
