I am personally agnostic, but I really like the characterization of one great scientist, who says religion is not inconsistent with physics, but one can view the world through the window of science one day and the window of religion that night. They are different viewpoets into the same space for those who want realize them in that manner. Religion, though it seems strange to many, must be absolutely and relentlessly protected against government intrusion. The inverse seems over-emphasized to me, however.
