Argumentum ad hominem again. I've learned that is standard with you, which is why you were banned from the Trump thread by Bentway.

Now back to the issue at hand. Comparative riches mean very little. It depends on how you live. I live very modestly. I drive simple cars and drive them until they die, usually around the 150K miles mark. I don't carry debt and I don't buy things until I can write a check. I live in a modest house, which is solidly upper middle class. A family of 4 can live comfortably in it, but no more than that. My wife worked as long as I did and both of us saved 50% of our income from the time we met each other, shortly after college. The money we accumulated was earned. No one gave us anything. If you saw how I live and you didn't know I had money, you'd never guess it. In fact, most people are shocked to find out I'm retired. You'd never know that from the way I live.

I do have rich friends, not the least of which is my brother. They have the kind of money and the kind of spending habits and all the accompanying things that mark them to any reasonable third party as "rich". I like to know what those folks are doing, because they are big spenders. So when they slow down in spending, slow down in risky investments, and start hoarding cash, of course I take notice. It is remarkable when they do. They are patient money. They can afford to wait things out. I'd be a fool to ignore those signals.

You don't know me and so you don't know just how wrong you are to call me a "rich piggy". I'm the most frugal person I know out of all the people I know in my life. The only reason I have money now is precisely because I am the furthest thing from a conspicuous consumer. I'm a voracious saver and very thrifty. So is my wife. We're a very compatible team.

Anyway, I think you should open your mind a little to other ideas instead of being so quick to attack. Don't you get tired of spewing all the vitriol? It has to be hard on the soul. It must leave you very bitter.
