Bill,

I agree this is now a fear-driven market. Stock holders are watching and hoping for the traditional recovery. This time, it won't happen. They are now watching in smug disbelief. Soon, the smugness will wear off and shock will set it. After the shock, then we'll see some real selling. When the test of the October lows fail, well, you know the rest.

I just cannot believe we really do have an outside reversal week, so far, anyway.

Hi Bill

Speaking of necklines<g>, my friend Mr. Grandville was saying the exact same thing today on CNBC...fear driven market, very bullish implications, says the neckline if it's not broken will be very bullish for the next move up..

BTW Bernie just turned bullish too...

If the DOW breaks 7550ish we tank big...If INTC on tues, reports bad, NAZ 1200....

Fun huh????

Bill:

It looks like a classic case of the tail of the asian tiger wagging the donkey. So, we will pump in another 100 billion or so of loan guarantees, the big banks will take a few more hits, the semis, the oils and the techs and then this too shall pass.

The real story is coming, what's happening with IBM, Johnson and Johnson, Merck, HP, GM, Coke, ect. If results in these big boys will come in with healthy gains, while a little less than anticipated, it will have a Prozac effect on this market. Just my prediction, then after a calming down period of 4 to 6 weeks its back to the bull.

A little side note-- what the markets have been experiencing the past several years have been below average volatility, if anything this is only returning to historical averages..gregor
