Obamacare was a step towards single payer. Obama wanted a Medicare for everyone option, but there wasn’t enough votes in Congress to support it. The Orange terrorist wants to dismantle the ACA and replace it with the old system of high deductibles, payment caps and pre-existing conditions...

Democrats also have very conservatives members of Congress who said single-payer would force them to filibuster the bill and kill it. They said their plan had bi-partisan support but when all was said and done they couldn't get one worthless republican to support even their plan.
