At least you have now a skeleton on Teotw and D.I. It would be necessary to flesh this out like getting a fossil back into the shape it was when alive. There are circuit breakers that prevents D.I.s (in plural) of any nature. Here is where world experience teaches how ther real world works. Putin Xi Erdogan and the Saudi Prince, all 1% of this planet are think about their self preservation.They are first thinking about the survival of their power and wealth base than to get into any adventure that would leads to a D. I. situation At the very basic level, the 99%, whatever happens to the the world, people will keep living and they need the basic to live on. They need the basics irrespective of major events at the macro level where the 1% inhabits. Think about 3 3 3. 3 minutes without air. 3 days without water 3 weeks without food. The supermarkets need to be supplied with produce for 8 billion people. The energy which the modern society runs on need to be kept flowing. Don't know if you noticed, nut whatever happens oil and refineries are always humming along. All those basics things show that D.I. is not a good idea to start with. People, ordinary people, need to keep getting married and having babies and buying abodes to live under and such. World's interconnectedness, aka Globalization, prevents the deterioration into D. I. because, on risk analysis preceding any action ,makes sure that it is not a good idea to take such action as the consequences will be dire. EXAMPLE: All major powers are doing their war games and desktop exercises evaluating courses of actions and their consequences. For example: That idiot running N. Korea knows that 50.000 S. Koreans would die if war breaks out and S. Korean would not run that risk. Better wait until an internal party decides to topple the idiot and take power and negotiate with S. Korea. Having done with D.I. feasibility lets see if TeoTw is a realistic proposition. That thing we call the West is product of 2.000 years of social evolution. Resulted from lots of experiments where the 1%s of the west did to increase or keep their power and wealth bases. Judaic. Greek. Christian ideas that fought an another until -mostly after the French Revolution, we come to that idea of Freedom. Democracy and the rest of it anyone who was not asleep at history classes know about. This is the world we know it. It is very difficult to think that there will be a flip of a switch that ends this works as we know it. Here in this think we call west? Not very likely.
