Supposedly, i-node refuses SS and Medicare. I'm not sure I believe him.

>> I've paid into SS and Medicare my entire working life.

As have I. But it doesn't begin to cover the cost of your care. And neither will mine. Medicare, today, needs close to 50 Trillion dollars in order to put it on the accounting basis where those who pay in pay their own ways. That is, you'd have to put 50 Trillion in it TODAY in order to be sure that little children today who pay into the system their entire lives would have benefits paid for in the way you think yours are.

That is $50,000,000,000,000.

>> What do you do with the people who don't pay-in then?

You can't work out a suitable system on Silicon Investor. Sorry, it is more complicated than that.

But there are simple things that could be done to provide better care for indigent and poor patients that would be far less expensive and more productive than what we're now doing.
