Well, the way many of us see it is, if he turns out to be exactly as the Dems think he is, then all that means is we just elected another leader that's like every other damned leader we've had in the past. We're already on the outside, my friend, and the whole world is eating our lunch. Our past two Presidents were happy to hand the keys to US banks to the rest of the world so they could raid us at their leisure. They even tried to convince us that it was in our best interests. At least Trump is telling everyone that it is NOT in our best interests and is making a show of standing up for Americans as his primary responsibility. That's a damned sight better than what we've had in the past. Will he be effective at America First? I don't know. In fact, to be honest, I have serious doubts, because his style is too combative and too devoid of the details to make it work. But at least he's changed the conversation in a very real way. I want the US to be a country that focuses on economics, not war, similarly to China. I want us to use the wealth we get from doing business with the rest of the world to solve problems for Americans, starting with good health care at a reasonable price and a good education through to a Bachelor's degree for our kids at a reasonable price. If we can't do those two things, then this country might as well start planning for the end of our Republic, because those are the basics. And we'd better figure those things out using free market principles, because Socialism is not the answer. Socialism destroys economies and countries. History is very clear on this point.
