I will decided to stay with my old Acer as well,

I think you made the right choice. I like being able to transfer data via usb stick, and having more usb ports handy. The only advantage of a tablet (IMO) over cell phone is larger email to read and bigger boarding passes. Not worth the size difference to lug around.

I have never been able to transfer data via the micro ports with a tablet or phone except for pictures. I'm afraid of the cloud especially after what happened to SI Ron recently. My wife is the opposite now. She trusts the cloud ever since security at Frankfort airport wiped an internal cell phone memory stick with pictures clean. ( or at least she blames security for whacking the stick to useless) Even a retrieval service could not retrieve our pictures unless we paid over $500 with no guarantees. I told them the pictures were of food on vacation, and it would be cheaper to go back and eat again and take new pictures.

We now use the cloud and transfer the pics to the netbook.
