Dan,

If anything, the markets are completely confused. Everybody thought that Asia was finally going to stablize with the IMF bailouts and large investment bankers and financiers mulling over potential investments. Greenspan was talking about inflation the time before he last spoke, now he's talking about deflation. The yield curve is getting inverted, which could likely spell recession.

The market is very confused at this point and when it gets like this, it heads lower.
