as I watched peoples emotions get the best of them today, I was actually happy for you Mark. (sad, isnt it??) Congrats on your shorts. I sat on the sidelines today but kept my small position in Fore. I decided to make that a (gasp) long position and added more just near 15 which made me happy. This stock held up real well the last few days and with earnings in a few, I really feel I will get my target of $18-20 in that time. I never really believed in TA but hell, you folks get rich from it so there must be something there. I try to predict emotions, and thats it. People are scared now, and I still think this is all over blown. What scares me is if we DO continue moving down, and the average mutual fund investor who made incredible returns over the last few years sees his/her statement next month, they will be on the phone selling asap. I spoke with several friends who think im crazy following the market second by second. They all took todays selloff in stride so the fear in my opinions seems to be amongst you TA folks as well as traders/funds. If it continues and spreads to jane/john we will see one hell of a bad year. Sorta like how we just keep going up and up and up. we will go down down down.. Cant see any way to try and pinpoint these emotions with any accuracy. off the subject a bit- I had to laugh as it seems I see some subtle references to religious beliefs these last few days. Im agnostic 100% and spend 1% of my life worrying about who/what/where etc etc.. but how do you folks spend your day in this 'game' and than hold beliefs in an afterlife? Just curious.. To me it seems sorta strange considering what most people believe 'god' to be and what we know the market to be. Than again, I should ask what beliefs you have.. that could make the differences. Money is my god, and I see no other way of understanding the market other than to take money from you, liz, etc etc and care very little about the aftermath... Im a salesperson and my job is to read people and screw them for as much profit as possible.. Same goes for wallstreet.. oh well.. Dont mean to offend, just conversation..
