Well in that sense Al Franken hasn't committed assault either. Which is partly why I raised the question of where it occurred. Rape and sexual assault are defined by State laws in the USA, and they aren't consistent from one State to the next. So forcible kissing likely is not uniformly defined as assault, and its even more tricky when you look at the context of his. She had agreed to kiss, but she objected to the type of kiss.

The reason Al will not be investigated is that his crime is about the weakest possible example, and so IF he were investigated then its very bad news for a lot of others in Congress.

Like I've stated several times, I'd LOVE to see him investigated by Congress, and I'm guessing so would he. Trump will do all he can to make sure that doesn't happen.
