All I can say is exactly.

A buyout play is great for the company's stock because now everyone wants in (if the buyout does go along).

I can only agree with you again when the company does get taken over because if the acquiring company doesn't have the strength in, like you said, cash and management then the acquired company will now need to keep them afloat with their strength.

To me when a company I hold gets acquired I sell If the company behind the buyout isn't on my screen. Granted, they may be a good company but I prefer to get out before the traders realise this too.
