Yes and no. They could have done this all along. Sell shares, dilute current shareholders a bit, and go on their way. I never quite understood the logic of selling Toshiba Memory when it was the part of the company that was making all of the money. Sell Westinghouse, yes. Own all of Toshiba Memory, resolve conflict with WDC, WDC is generating plenty of cash, wants to be the joint venture partner, and everybody goes on their merry way. Return to status quo. All other issues are then fairly easily resolved
