Without Toshiba, WDC lacks the captive supply needed to thrive, which is the only reason to consider selling out. Toshiba out of the picture under this scenario.

Only a company with captive supply has use for them. A company without captive supply would just be buying WDC's problem. The value of WDC is in adding value to NAND.

did apple ever pay over a 60% premium on a company they took over?..i would like to see that with wdc..
apple would love to have wdc in trouble and offer very little premium to take them over, if they wanted it.
apple wants to buy things cheap..from their suppliers and companies they take over
