And what were you doing when you bought and were HOPING for $500 a share.

Actually, no. I bought in the 30's and 40's when everyone was undervaluing the stock and didn't understand the synergies of the acquisition. I sold in the 80's when supply issues surfaced, and endangered the company's future. I booked over a 100% long term gain and quite satisfied with that result.

I never "hoped" for $500 a share, but had that as a 5 year target based on doubling earnings to $25/share during that time period, and getting a reasonable growth P/E of 20 after doing so. Without long term supply, they can no longer achieve that goal, which is why I sold. Things change, and when they do, you have to go with the flow. Investing is not about making a blind prediction and stubbornly sticking to it. The latter appears to be what you are doing.

The fact that you continue to focus on me, as opposed to the company, clearly demonstrates that you are investing blind and merely wish to throw stones at those speaking opposite to your bets. If you have something to say about the company, please do, but I don't think the moderator would appreciate your continued personal attacks. They are really unwarranted and far more suitable for the Yahoo message boards.
