The fixed-income markets have already priced in a 50 BP drop in the fed funds rate.

My guess is that Greenspan will cut rates by 25 basis points in early February unless the markets are tanking big time. He like to move slowly and deliberately. A 50 BP cut might lead some to believe the FOMC is beginning to panic.
