I agree. No one really means it. However, half of my family has served in the military. For me, it's a bit personal. They are far from perfect people, but they have served and they have been put in a position to make the ultimate sacrifice. The very least we can do in this country for them is to respect their service by standing up, taking our hats off, putting our stupid little hands over our hearts, and listening quietly to the National Anthem during games. There are all sorts of things I will protest, but doing it by disrespecting service members isn't be one of them.
