The banks I know are using unix servers with CORBA and html and Java to do their new web development. With some NT/com for the internal stuff at those banks that are already all-microsoft shops.

Your statement is a little sweeping. You mean no 'boutique software houses' or 'silicon Alley' companies are doing CORBA or Java? You did say "the", and "any of the", did you not.

BTW, the reason the financial press have been negative to MSFT is because the financial district in NY has some issues with MSFT, and it's spilling over.
