BREAKING: Egyptian state news agency says death toll in Sinai mosque attack rises to 155, with 120 injured.

7:39 AM - Nov 24, 2017

Here’s more from AP:

Egyptian state news agency MENA reports that 155 people have been killed in a bombing and shooting attack on a Sufi mosque in the volatile northern Sinai Peninsula, in what appeared to be the latest attack by the area’s local Islamic State affiliate.

Citing official sources, MENA said 120 people were also wounded in the attack on the al-Rawdah mosque in the town of Bir al-Abd, 40 km (25 miles) from the North Sinai provincial capital of El-Arish.

Earlier, officials said militants in four off-road vehicles bombed the mosque and fired on worshippers during the sermon segment of Friday prayers

According to Al Jazeera:

Local media reports said that attackers planted explosives and then opened fire on worshippers while the sermon was under way.

Egypt has for years been battling an armed movement in the rugged and thinly populated Sinai Peninsula, which has gained pace since the military overthrew democratically elected president Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood in mid-2013.

We’ll update more on this as we it comes in…

Dr. Professional
While I insist that there is no such thing as "a religion of peace," Sufism would come close. Every Western liberal idiot who says that jihad doesn't really mean war, but instead an inner struggle with evil, is quoting a Sufi mystic, Sufi Rumi.

It is also worth pointing out that Sufism is a very small persecuted minority in Islam precisely because they reject violent jihad.

The Ahmadi sect is another Islamic movement that explicitly rejects jihad. It's considered a heresy by most Muslims as the founder of the sect declared himself the Mahdi or messiah sent to renew Islam.

. 'Ahmadis point out that as per prophecy, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (whom they believe to be the promised messiah) rendered Jihad in its military form as inapplicable in the present age since Islam, as a religion, is not being attacked militarily but through literature and other media, therefore the response should be likewise.'

Oh, one thing. I guess being without power for a long time would make owning a firearm more important.

That doesn't seem to be an issue in Puerto Rico where the 50% of the island is still without power.....I doubt that would happen in Houston.
