What finally forced me to buy a smartphone was that the ear-piece volume and battery charge were lousy on my flip-phone.

The only things I use my inexpensive smartphone for though are as a phone and camera.

My smart phone - Samsung S8+ - has become an appendage that I don't think i could manage without. It does so many things to simplify the norms of living, and also provides great communication choices, camera, and other fun stuff. My most favorite feature is the calendar where all of my dates and appointments are simply recorded, and then reminder alerts keep me on schedule. The Google feature is voice activated so you don't have to type when looking for information. While email is provided, most of my young friends and relatives hardly use email anymore and rely on texting for brief messages. It really is the world we live in today.
