Agreed on the report from John. Thanks!! I had it from only two sources. AMEN to duplicates, I think I got it from John first.

IMHO, the MAX point of the message is that LEHMAN would raise their estimates on INTC if they thought that AMD would miss estimates( or did miss production, obviously).

(Am I the only one who saw the AMD estimate of 10 X 4Q97 K6 Production == 1Q 98 Production? )

Still, I think that at this point that there is more to be made on INTCs shorts than on AMDs long-johns ( clearly not LONG John Petz.).

It appears that AMD is shipping the notebook K6-266 now.
Compaq is shipping a k-6-233 at .25u now.

From Anand:
In response to an email I just received, Compaq is apparently using the AMD K6-233 processor in their new Presario 1621
Notebook. Could this K6 be the 0.25 micron 2.5v K6/233 that we've been waiting for? Consider this, the height of the
Presario 1621 is a tiny 1.93", and unless Compaq has managed to fit a desktop K6/233 and a decent fan in that small of a
space the K6/233 used in the 1621 is probably one of the elusive 0.25 micron chips. <<<A few days ago AMD announced that
they finally began shipping their 0.25 micron 233MHz and 266MHz units they were producing last year,>>> looks like we're just
beginning to see the results of that behind the scenes production the folks at AMD have been working on.
