SUPPORT ???

I thought their may be support at the $4 dollar level but with a law suit pending their cash value will go into legal fees to keep the insiders out of Jail. And the remainder might go pay stockholders who took a bath.

Bill,
The institutions are the last to throw in the towel for several reasons.
1. Very little research is done in house, instead relying on outside analyst to provide buy recs for them. Read Peter Lynchs' book and you will see how its done. Outside analysts called him every morning with recs and each caller would get 30 seconds to pitch a stock. If he liked it he would call you back. If Fido likes your stock and makes a move you're in big time and they reserve a special place for your next rec.
2. Analysts rely on the company for their information instead of digging up their own. Call AVNT or ZONA or ERGB and ask for an info pack and see what you get. The last news release from AVNT didn't even report the investment risks. Instead they referred the readers to the recently filed S4. How many investors have the ability to get the S4 and of those that can, how many will?
3. The fund managers are too busy to even read the Sec filings instead trusting the outside analyst to brief them. Several time in past investments that have gone bad for Fido they have revealed where the tip came from as if to separate themselves from the bad decision and place the blame on the outside source.
4. The funds seem to go down with the ship instead of sinking it by selling their huge holdings. Take a look at the holdings of Amerindo fund in AVNT. They can't get out without killing the price. They were profiled by WSJ as the worst performing fund in the world. Minimum investment is $200,000.
5. Brokerage firms have investment banking deals and to put out a sell would hurt that side of the business. Investment banking is more profitable than brokerage business. Look at the close ties of Wessels, Arnold to AVNT. The are getting a $two million fee for the AVNT/TMAI merger, the are the lead market maker for AVNT and make a market in TMAI also. Its unlikely that they would have much negative news about either company.
If these companies go bust it shouldn't come as a surprise to the funds because they have the information they need now. The internet has provided a forum for negative news to be shared instead of only hearing the buy side analysis so typical of past years.
The funds can't hide now.
