Hi Alex, I'm a big believer in ORCL (at today's price anyway).

IMHO, I think the NC is going to skyrocket and the DOJ is going to give Soft a ruff go of it, which will be a big benefit to ORCL, SUNW and AAPL (notice the strength of AAPL in today's bloody sell-off) bwdik

Although I feel bearish on the market overall, IMHO ORCL at this price has had most if not all of the wind taken out of it and would be a good starting point to start buying some. bwdik

There is extreme ORCL bearishness on this board and this level of bearishness is usually an indicator of a near bottom. bwdik

Ellison To Let Up On NCs
(01/09/98; 9:42 a.m. EST)
By Shawn Willett, Computer Reseller News

Oracle chairman Larry Ellison has been a tireless crusader
for the network computer, using every public event he
appears at to hawk the new devices.

Now, however, according to sources close to the
company, the mercurial CEO plans to de-emphasize the
NC and focus his efforts on selling Oracle's bread and
butter databases and applications.

Oracle's recent earnings "disappointment" are the main
reason for Ellison's change in tactics.

But industry observers say the slowdown in database
sales may be too deep-rooted for even Ellison to turn
around.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<snip the rest of the BS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My comment?

I think Ellison is doing a "tap-dance" right now.

I also think he "whispered" in Ray's ear and gave him a nice XMAS present (200K shares worth) based on what PTB posted in regard to the insider sales.

Smells....

Regards,

Joe...
