Joan, I think that the Japaneses will wait until calamity stares them directly in the eyes. They have laready lost the ability to use monetary stimulus to revive their economy into its true potential, they may lose the ability to do that fiscally as well. Then we might have a train wreck spreading all over the rim and what we are seeing now will be a nice memory. They are acting like fanatics in this matter and if they act too late, they will not be able to stop a down spiral (BOJ are you guys reading this???). If that happens they will have a macro recession, and we will suffer as well (and our budgets will once more get out of hand). I hope, I pray that they see the light before it is too late.
