Taxes are the cost of civilization. You right wingers want all the services, clean water, clean food, good roads, good fire and police protection, but you don't want to pay for them.

and once they get their tax cut, and the resulting $1 trillion of added debt, they'll go back to whining about the need to cut welfare programs like Social Security and Medicaid.

Since I was 20 not one day have I, or any member of my family, gone without health insurance. Not the cheap employer paid shit, either. I'm talking well more than 20K/year. Even in the mid 80s, we were paying 400 a month which wasn't cheap. And there were months when I had to decide between paying the mortgage and paying for health insurance.

I would not take a fucking thing from government. Never have, never will, if I can help it. If I can get my money back on SS and Medicare, and have another option, I'll take it.

I take nothing from them. I pay for the services I use, and I don't use services I haven't paid for. Responsible people don't need wasteful spending. The only thing I want from government is national defense. And I have paid through the nose for it over the years.

You're full of shit. Ignorant. We had civilization long before we had insane levels of taxation, long before the 16th Amendment, or the IRS.

The taxes we pay are the worst value Americans receive for any expenditure. Nothing else comes close.

Most of the people getting value for their tax payments are those who don't pay any -- EITC beneficiaries and welfare recipients, long-living Medicare & SS beneficiaries (but NOT the physicians and hospitals who get fucked by these programs).

It is a disappointment that America has people like you in it who think you deserve to live off the work of others.
