Off-topic: What is Xylan going do for the next year IYHO?

I feel confident in a decent upside move in XLAN in 98. I wrote in the money naked puts for XYLN. They are mostly switching which is needed for bandwidth.

What jach is getting at (IMO) is even though there appears to be a local
loop solution that can provide high-speed and wide bandwidth solution in
ADSL there appears to be a bottleneck with the carriers that will not
allow this technology to take off in the short-term. I feel that ADSL
has a significant future but I see the carriers being an interim
barrier.

I also believe the carriers will start to deploy a lot more high speed bandwidth. Not quickly enough for xDSL to make a go in 98. Enough for 99. Cascade will do very well with this deployment. It seems NN is losing market share in WAN ATM but many would disagree with me.
