"True, the pie will keep on shrinking, and that is one fo the reasons I haven't yet become a bull."

Apple's pie shrinking? It seems to be flattening. Remember, Apple's FY Q4 (CY Q3) is now it's biggest. In fact, once Rhapsody Unified is released, Apple's pie will probably begin to grow again.

"Apple could survive as a pie manufacturer just like Sun has done if it arrives to the right mix of Intel software and hardware plus fast, propietary, specialized software and hardware."

Apple is becoming more of a techno-centrist, if you haven't noticed. They are moving in the exact opposite of the Sun direction. The NIH (not-invented-here) syndrome is getting axed, and they are embracing open standards more and more. They are also making their products (QuickTime & Rhapsody, to name a couple) truly cross-platform.

"A while ago Jobs talked about milking money out of Apple and then letting it die. His actions might also be consistent with this plan (which, if executed properly, would be highly benefical to stockholders)."

Not Apple, Macintosh. Besides, the core of the Mac is it's OS. Does the hardware really matter? No. In one shape or another, Apple will continue to make OSes for years to come.

"Just not enough data to decide...."
