Life's tough enough without bandits crooks and other destructive people wrecking things. Sorry to read about your problems apart from the natural hurricane style mess. I have sympathy with the Made in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, or Japanese way of dealing with criminals. The molly-coddling welfare way of life breeds criminals by the million. It's not sustainable so won't continue for many decades/centuries. More successful societies will replace such failing ones.

Tradable Citizenship is the way to go, so that people can sell up and abandon societies going down the gurgler and back better ones without losing one's ancestral efforts in the old country.

Greece should go Grexit and lead the world once again. I'd be keen to sign up. Their climate is a great start, especially when the 2020 Big Chill gets going [contrary to the mistaken Global Alarmists who think Global Warming is happening].

Well that sucks about the boat and grapes. I figured you' d have needed a whole lot of luck to escape this last hurricane season unscathed. One of my pals used to run a freighter in the islands and he was telling me just how bad this season was.

And as bad as losing the grapes was, at least you weren't up up in Sonoma County getting your vines burnt to a crisp. Wonder how long it will take those vineyards to recover.
