Some good news . . .

I was back at Fry's tonight (had to return something aaggghhh).

For those of you who aren't familiar with them, they are a 19 store chain of huge warehouse type stores that sell computer and audio stuff. Kindof like CompUsa and Costco in one.

I asked one of the managers how they do selling Zip stuff. They have displays of Zips and Jaz drives ALL over the store. He said that Zips are their #1 selling product. He estimated, FWIW, that they sell 500 - 1000 Zip drives every month. That's 10K to 20K Zip drive sales per month for just one small chain of stores.

He also said they sell a shitload of discs (don't know exactly how many that is).

While I doubt the exact veracity of those numbers, the fact that Zip drives are a leading product for this huge store is great news.

BTW, when I was there, I noticed 2 Syjet drives being returned. I asked him about that too. He said lots of them come back.

BTW again, they do get a good number of Zip returns too. He says that some people just can't figure out how to install them.

Anyway, this seems to be a common point discussed here by those doing channel checks.

Trust me -- Zip stuff is flying off store shelves. If we can hold on until earnings, I am 100% positive we'll get a very, very good number.

Now, with that said, how the market reacts to it, I can't predict. Maybe we'll be up an 1/8 that day. <ggg>

Everyone, have a good weekend. No point stressing about the market on Monday - there's nothing we can do about it (except pray). Watch the football games and drink heavy. Get lots of sleep Sunday night.

Whichever way Monday goes, it'll be a wild one for sure. Wednesday too (after Intel reports on Tuesday).

Linda, keep some good Scotch by the computer.
