In Re ASND v. CSCO:

LANE [LAN Emulation] capability of ATM proves it's backward capable. Also capable of sending all kinds of traffic, not just pure ATM within the LAN. ATM currently competing to take place of CSCO routers & ASND's switches can be deployed @ "EDGE" of network to service ISP switches. Whereas, CSCO likes to be deployed in larger business environments as a LAN technology with their ATM switches.

Happy trading & investing....

GE is a LAN technology NOT a WAN technology. No one is planning to use
GE in the internet. The debate is if ATM in the LAN will ever go or will
GE be the choice. I belive GE will dominate because it is a cheaper,
fast enough, backward compatible system.

Scott,

I agree with you 100%. The question remains; what will Fore Systems have to sell? They disagree with us.
